Lewis Knibbs – Managing Director

Lewis is a proud Arrernte person from Alkngirrweltye Country (Central Australia) with strong ties to Dagoman Country (Katherine, NT). He has a strong passion for culture and spent much of his childhood performing traditional dances and busking with his family. He believes that strong culture is paramount for mobs’ advancement.

Lewis’s story is motivational. Firstly, he is on the spectrum and struggled with several learning disabilities as a child. He didn’t learn to read until year 4 of primary school and was never supported to bridge the gap in education. In high school, he decided that he wanted to go to university and study science and engineering. However, he was told that this was never going to happen and was forced into a trade which he completed.

Later in life, he discovered that he was gifted in certain areas, however, he was never given the skills to utilise his gifts. Lewis went on to complete two Diplomas, one from Deakin University and a degree in Business from the University of South Australia specialising in Economics, Finance and Trade. He was then able to transfer into an advanced program due to his exceptionally high grades. He is now completing his master’s degree in Finance in half the time it normally takes.

He has also recently completed his Certificate IV in Building and Construction to become a licenced builder and is working towards becoming a certified project manager.

His professional career began as a youth worker during the beginning of The Northern Territory National Emergency Response, also known as “The Intervention”. He was involved in running several programs designed to engage youth and young adults in complete educational and training programs. He then went on to work for Territory families where he worked as a case manager on a program managing high offending youths in the care of the government.

Since then, Lewis has spent several years living and working within Aboriginal Communities across the NT, including his homelands of Central Australia and the Top End. He has worked with various organisations centred around creating opportunities for continuous improvement, meeting performance criteria and setting goals. This has included working with non-profit organisations, commercial companies, and government departments.

Lewis brings expertise in project management, finance, strategy, and management consulting. He brings a strong set of skills in analytical and decision-making.  He enjoys working creatively and has a think ‘outside the box mindset.  He is dedicated to helping clients bring ideas to life, from strategic planning to operational implementation.
