Facilitation and Indigenous Consultation

There are organisations that are really skilled in working with Aboriginal people or people that are skilled consultants that have no idea how to work with Aboriginal people. We have the competitive edge of having both.

Growing up partly in community and other low socio-economic areas has given us a first-hand understanding of the problems that Aboriginal people face daily. For example, we have spent considerable time talking about the effects of overcrowding and culturally appropriate housing. Our management team are qualified to talk about this as they grew up sharing bedrooms with 4 other people.

Our academic studies and professional experience in the public and private sectors also provide an understanding of western society and how government and the private sector operate. These two unique perspectives truly allow us to walk in two different worlds.

Our team can provide facilitation between Aboriginal people and western society using a culturally appropriate engagement process. We use deep listening and yarning as a core to any facilitation and consultation. We do not believe in forcing ideas, rather we want to foster a mindset of collaboration where problem-solving flows naturally through the sharing of people’s individual knowledge and understanding.

We can assist with the following.

  • Partnership Brokerage and Establishing Joint Ventures
  • Governance Workshops
  • Strategic Planning and Implementation
  • Community Stakeholder Management
  • Cross-Cultural Facilitation
  • Indigenous Employment Program

We also have a network of experienced consultants that we can refer you to if you require cross-cultural training in specific regions. We highly recommend completing cross-cultural training that is specific to the region that you are working in. This will enable genuine relationships to flourish.
