History

Annge comes from the Arrernte language of Central Australia meaning seed or fruit, this word was chosen to represent the purpose of this organisation. It pays homage to the language group that the company creators’ grandmother’s country and shares belonging with a connection to Yamba (Snake Well), in Arrernte country just north of Alice Springs. The meaning represents the beginning of creation with the hope of future growth, it is an opportunity to allow us to develop with the current market trends while providing opportunities for local communities.

We also have strong ties to Dagoman country (Katherine region of the Top End) Our great grandfather is Henry Ventlia Peckham, the ‘Fizzer’, who was a stockman at Renner Springs before securing the mail contract for the ‘Maluka’ (Elsey Station). His son Henry Peckham was a stockman who played a significant role in the management of Beswick station.

Firstly, we will aim to work with local people, communities, and Indigenous organisations to build their capacity to flourish and provide better outcomes for their people. Our point of difference is that we are Aboriginal people with professional consulting experience. We will address the gaps left behind by the existing policies in place by the government, based on our close ties with the communities.

Secondly, our services will not just be limited to the Indigenous space. We offer a range of products and services to small to medium enterprises (SMEs), State and Federal Government agencies as well as many other organisations. We want any person/organisation to have access to our services and for everyone to be able to utilise all the resources that Angge and its partner organisations have to offer.
